Unleashing a sustainable event

We are committed to providing an event that is as sustainable as possible; to respect people, place and planet. Here are a few answers to common questions:

How are you going to cut down on cup waste?

Coffee is a lifeblood at most conferences and can help get the day moving in an early morning start. On average 2-3 cups per person per day for coffee orders could be consumed. Our goal is to encourage delegates to bring their own ‘keep cups’ to use throughout the two days and to supply recyclable options for those that don’t have one. We will also encourage people to bring their own water bottles and utilise water stations throughout the venue. This will reduce any plastic waste.

What about leftover food?

Part of any great event is to ensure you don’t under or over cater. This can be a challenge however we have plans in place to ensure leftover food that is acceptable to distribute will be shared with local organisations in need.

And the big one… what about emissions from travelling?

Great question and one we are very conscious of given our business of reducing emissions within our industry. When planning this event, we measured out the benefit of in-person versus online and it came down to the biggest factors – collaboration and building strong trustworthy relationships.

Various studies show face-to-face requests are 34 times more effective than those sent by email, and that a physical handshake promotes cooperation and influences negotiation outcomes for the better. Our goal for this Summit is accelerated collaboration and that requires trust which is gained faster when all parties are together.

Our goal at Agritech Unleashed is to provide an environment to have those meaningful conversations and forge deeper business relationships faster. In-person events are also known to inspire positivity and trust during polarizing times. There’s never been a better time for us to hold this event and bring together the most strategic and innovative thinkers in our industry.

We will do all we can to off-set our emissions and encourage anyone travelling to ‘carpool’ where possible – especially with those you don’t know. The journey can be a great time to make a new connection.

If you have any other questions regarding sustainability, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team.
