Agritech Unleashed is going regional!

In conversations with many of you, we’ve heard your desire for more regional gatherings that connect to some of our most important communities throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

With your ideas in mind, we’ve decided to shift Agritech Unleashed from a single two-day event in Hamilton to a series of regional events. This aligns with our core values and strategic goals and can create a better-quality experience for everyone that celebrates the diversity and richness of agritech innovation within the environments where it thrives.

Whether it’s vineyards in Marlborough, orchards in Hawke’s Bay, or pastures in Southland, regional events allow for deeper, more meaningful engagement with the unique stories and challenges of each area.

Some additional benefits include:

  • Reducing the costs to attend and host - A regional approach lowers barriers for those who might find travel to Hamilton prohibitive. Regional events minimize travel and accommodation expenses for attendees, making participation more accessible for everyone.
  • Reducing the time required – A one-day format gives more flexibility to be away from the office or farm / orchard
  • Improve the quality of the experience - By working locally we can draw out the real issues through workshops and field visits. We will highlight regionally unique contributions and the broader value of their work in advancing agritech solutions.
  • Connecting the International with the Regional - A regional format opens the door to fostering stronger international connections by creating forums where we can invite and host international delegations visiting New Zealand. By aligning regional events with the schedules of delegations already in the country, we can showcase the unique agritech solutions being developed in specific regions while facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration. These forums allow global leaders, researchers, and investors to engage directly with local innovators, amplifying New Zealand’s reputation as a world leader in agritech innovation and forging valuable partnerships that extend beyond our borders.
  • Leveraging Existing Regional Events - Another advantage of the regional approach is the ability to dovetail with existing regional events, leveraging the collective power of their attendees. By aligning Agritech Unleashed events with other local gatherings—such as agricultural field days, research showcases, or industry expos—we can maximize attendance, enrich the event’s content, and provide additional value to participants. This synergy not only enhances the impact of both events but also ensures a more integrated experience for attendees, who benefit from a broader array of insights, networking opportunities, and real-world demonstrations.
